Installation Instructions The Automated RONOCO Calculator Wheel cannot be installed to a network drive. It must be installed to the local drive. Note: We recommend that you print these instructions before proceeding for easy reference. We also recommend that you close all open applications before proceeding with any installation. If you are running Windows XP, proceed to the installation instructions. If you are running any version other than Windows XP, please make sure your system meets the minimum requirements before installing the Automated RONOCO Calculator Wheel. If your operating system requires an additional component listed below, you must install those components before installing the Automated RONOCO Calculator Wheel. Any Service Pack required will need to be obtained from the Microsoft Web site.It may be necessary to re-start your computer during this process. *Install DCOM95. This may not be necessary in some cases, if IE version 5 is already installed, however MDAC will not install without DCOM95.
Windows 98 (including Windows 98SE)
Windows 98 includes an early version of MDAC. Therefore MDAC 2.5 SP2 should be installed.
Windows Me
Windows Me may include an early version of MDAC. Therefore MDAC 2.5 SP2 should be installed.
Windows NT 4
Service Pack 4 or better
To see which level of Service Pack is installed, open Windows Explorer and select Help/About. If necessary you may obtain the latest Service Pack from the Microsoft Web site.
Windows 2000
Service Pack 1 or better
Because Windows 2000 includes a "system file protection" feature, attempting to install MDAC 2.5 SP2 directly will not work. Instead you must install Windows 2000 Service Packs. We highly recommend you install the Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 or better (this includes all the fixes in Service Pack 1), however, Service Pack 1 will suffice.
Windows XP
No additional components need to be installed.
Installation of the Automated RONOCO Calculator Wheel
Please click here to download. (1.7mb) (Or right click and select Save As..) Start the installation by double clicking the setup.exe file once the files have been unzipped. Once the installation begins, simply follow the prompts.
Once installed, please use the Help function for further information on how to use the program.
Starting For The First Time
You will need to contact The Rough Notes Co. at 800-428-4384 or saleserv@roughnotes.com for a license code before using the software.
When starting the Automated RONOCO Calculator Wheel for the first time you will be prompted for a user name, user company name, license number and expiration date. This information must be entered prior to using the Automated RONOCO Calculator Wheel. This information can be changed but any alteration will impact your ability to access the Automated RONOCO Calculator Wheel in the future, so it should remain untouched and unchanged. However, there is information on this screen that can be altered without impacting the program. These items are the address, phone and fax number of the user. The name, address, phone and fax will display on any printed worksheet.
