You might notice a few changes around VGM Insurance. For starters, there’s a new president. John Spragle retired from VGM Insurance this summer. He relocated to his lake home with his wife, Sharon, to spend more time with friends and family. John was a critical part of VGM Insurance’s success in the more than 20 years that he led the company.

The new “sheriff in town” is Tom Jones. No, he doesn’t sing, but he does bring a varied insurance background that will be vital as VGM Insurance continues to excel. Tom previously served as president of a mutual insurance company, and owned and operated an independent insurance agency. His agency placed insurance coverage for home medical equipment companies for many years. He also earned the CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) and other designations while acquiring knowledge and experience in insurance company management, sales, and claim adjusting.

 “In our more than 20-year history, we have experienced phenomenal growth in our targeted classes,” Jones explains. “VGM’s success is directly related to our understanding of our industry and our commitment to the agents and brokers who represent us, and the intensity of the inside sales and support associates who ‘have their backs.’ I’ve watched VGM Insurance excel for many years, but never realized the degree of caring exhibited by our associates until I came on board this summer.
